We found a message posted on Shaykh AbdulKareem’s SunniPath blog dated 21st June 2007. Subhan’Allah we read it as if it was written for us today… May Allah preserve our dear Habib Umar Bin Hafiz and Shaykh AbdulKareem Yahya. Allahumma Ameen.
Bismillah
As-salamu alaykum
Sayyidi al-Habib Umar Bin Hafiz (Allah preserve him) said in his talk during the weekly mawlid last night, “Relying on Allah (al-tawakkul) is being more confident in that which is in Allah’s treasure chests than you are of that which is in your own hand.”
May Allah grant all of us and you to rely in everything on Him and may He not leave us to ourselves for the twinkling of an eye. Amin.

It’s a powerful quote. Jazaki Allahu khairan for sharing it.
May I ask, are there any tips that the shuyookh have given the students to better their trust upon Allah ‘azza wa jal?

The first chapter of The Book of Assistance discusses how to increase certitude which is closely connected to depending on Allah. This topic is also treated well in Wayfarers to God.
