Asalaam alaykum wa rahmatullah,

The Prophet (peace and blessings upon him) said:

Whoever travels a path seeking knowledge on it, Allah (Majestic is He) will take him on a path to Paradise”

In trying to find closeness to Allah, this seeker found herself questioning the validity of what she was doing in her obedience towards Him. Always hoping that His Rahma will bestow upon her she failed to recognise the beauty He had already blessed her with. Alhumdulillah this pauper has far to go but with the right teachers around, the right support network, and the right tools Insha’Allah she’ll find the way to His Throne for the final unveiling. Ameen thumma ameen.

This site is mainly for my own purpose of reviewing what ilm (knowledge) has been Given by Ar-Razzâq (The Provider), Al-Wadûd (The Most Loving). If in it other people find benefit then the good is from Allah and the mistakes are solely from this pauper who is very much in need of your duas.

Take care, keep smiling, and wasalaam alaykum wa rahmatullah.

May this message reach you in the best of health and Iman.

    Theme: ‘Yearning for the Pious’

    Guest Speaker: Shaykh Muhammad al-Yaqoubi

al-Musafir is pleased to announce its first Ziarah tour to the blessed lands of Sham, an area frequently praised by our beloved Prophet may Peace & Blessings be upon him. Being blessed with superb picturesque scenery, peaceful countryside, and true Islamic heritage, Syria offers the ideal setting for carrying out an enjoyable spiritual retreat.

In Islamic terms there are several authentically recorded traditions, which describe the virtues of ‘Sham’ and add value to its mystical position. Our merciful Prophet may Peace & Blessings be upon him is reported to have reserved special praise and invocations for this particular region, and declared Damascus itself as being amongst its best cities. Many Prophets, Companions, and Awliyah (friends of Allah) graced this land with their physical presence while for some Allah decreed it to be their final abode. Based on these facts the relevant theme of ‘Yearning for the Pious’ was chosen as it presents a timely reminder of who our true role models are, and also allows us to perform the Quranic command of being with those whom Allah has favoured.

The primary aim of this journey is to visit the honourable burial grounds of numerous blessed personalities described above. In doing so we hope to make it an educational affair by relating key events from their lives, and provide individual prayer or reflective timings where possible. Alongside this programme a range of other activities have also been included that are designed to enhance our knowledge of the glorious Islamic heritage within Syria, and present a chance to experience historical sites that for many are only seen in books of history. With Syria also being a popular touring destination, travellers will be given the opportunity to partake in other permissible leisure activities in and around the main itinerary itself.

This spiritual excursion has appropriately been scheduled during the upcoming Christmas holidays as it facilitates the time needing to be taken by students, professionals, and other family members. Due to the comprehensive nature of this tour, al-Musafir openly welcomes travellers from all age groups and ethnic backgrounds with special arrangements being made for Urdu speaking members of the community. The journey is suited to people at varying levels of interest with regards to Islamic history, and for prospective students wanting to experience the Syrian culture before committing to longer periods of study. It may also be an ideal opportunity for people simply wanting to make a meaningful vacation during the winter break, while enjoying milder temperatures of the Middle East.

NOTE: Places are limited, interested individuals are advised to reserve their places in advance and avoid any potential disappointment. This tour is also open to residents from both the UK and abroad.

For bookings & enquiries call 07976 036 577 (UK) / 00 44 7976 036 577 (International), or alternatively send an email to: al-musafir@hotmail.co.uk and recieve an electronic flyer for the tour.
