Dua for Vigilance (Muraqaba)

Whilst studying Imam alHaddad’s The Book of Assistance book, our teacher told us of the dua for vigilance (Muraqaba), which Shaykh Sahl bin Abdullah al-Tustari (may Allah have mercy upon him) was reminded to read from his uncle (may Allah be pleased with him). The dua is as follows:

Allahu ma’ee, Allahu shahidee, Allahu hadiree, Allahu nazhiree, Allahu qareebun minnee.

Allah is with me, Allah is witnessing me, I am in Allah’s presense, Allah’s gaze is on me, Allah is near to me.

It’s advised to say the above dua when laying down, 3-7 times daily, without moving the tongue but saying it from ones heart.

And with Allah is Enabling Grace.

    As-salamu’alaykum Beautiful,

May Allah reward you for posting this beneficial du’a!

Al-Hamdu lillah your post reminds us of a talk given earlier today on muraqaba.

The blessed Ustadha, may Allah preserve her, brought us all to tears…She spoke about the Prophet salAllahu’alayhi was-salam’s state, proximity and longing for Allah. The Beloved never left Allah..even during the most intimate moment, even as he was cleaning himself in the washroom…he invoked Allah and was conscious of Him in all of his states.

Do you remember how Habibullah salAllahu’alayhi was-salam used to make each of the Companions feel as if they were the most beloved? He was able to do so even as his own heart was completely fixed on Allah…Ya Allah..oh if we could only have a share of the love that the Prophet had for Him in his blessed heart even if it were just an atom’s weight…

Allahumma salli ‘ala Sayyidina Muhammad wa ‘ala aalihi wa sahbihi wa salim tasliman…

Wish you were with us in flesh at the beautifully blessed gatherings Asma, we carry you in spirit nonetheless.

    Du’as please

May He Shroud you in His Tawfeeq and increase you in stations for thinking good of me. Allahumma Ameen.

And may He grant us benefit in our studies. Allahumma Ameen.
